This month, we will study the letters and Ll ("Lemon Lollipops"), and Mm ("Munchy Mouth"). We will continue to blend the letter sounds as we read new words. Practice the letter sounds at home.

In math, we will continue writing numbers and counting from 0-100. Many children are writing the numerals backwards. Extra practice at home on this skill would be beneficial. Some suggestions for numeral writing include using shaving cream on the bath wall, using a box lid with uncooked rice, and using chocolate
pudding on a white plate. The children especially love the last numeral writing activity!!

Our units of study this month are holiday traditions around the world. We will investigate traditions in England, Mexico, Sweden, Israel, Africa, and America. We can't wait until we break our pinatas! We will also study how the weather affects animals and why leaves fall from the trees.

Our Winter Celebration Party will be held this month. Our last day is on Dec. 21st.  and we will not return to school until January 7th.
We will celebrate the season with a Polar Express Day, an ugly sweater Day, a Green Day, and a Festive Hat Day.  Be on the lookout for more information.
Don't forget to read during the holidays and record those books for the Pizza Hut Book It Program.
Also, practice tying shoes, and zipping all of those new jackets many are getting as gifts this year.
